Freeview is a free-to-air service supported by the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 and will not be affected by the digital switch over which will complete roll out in 2012. There is no monthly fee so effectively you are getting digital TV for free but will be restricted to Freeview channels. You can check the availability of Freeview on their web site by inputting your post code. The key to whether you will need to change your aerial depends on the location of your property and the strength of the signal available. If the TV transmitter is on the periphery of the area receiving Freeview, you may need a higher gain digital TV aerial which collects more of the signal.

Removing and covering Artex
